Step 2: Choose a Citation Format
Each school and each board has its own format. Most popular are the following:
- APA (American Psychological Association) — used a lot in science and social science. The MLA (Modern Language Association) is a style that is widely used in humanities and literature.
Note: Chicago Style is only used in history classes and in some arts classes.
